DNA-testing Results |

Here are:
-
Peter Douglas Zohrab's 67-marker results obtained from Family
Tree DNA in 2009,
-
followed by his original 12-marker results obtained from the
Genographic
Project in 2005.
-
Finally, the results of his Deep Clade test are at the bottom
of the page. These are the values for markers which help to
refine exactly which sub-haplogroup (so to speak) we belong to,
and are relevant to issues such as migration routes, etc.. These
were initially obtained from ftdna.com, but later repeated and slightly
added to by 23andme.com.
There appeared to be a couple of discrepancies between the results
from the different companies, but different companies use slightly different
values for certain markers. This is set out on the page http://www.smgf.org/ychromosome/marker_standards.jspx

Here are the results of the Deep Clade test carried out in 2008
by Family Tree DNA:
L1- L11+ M18- M269+ M335- M73- P107- P25+ P297+ P310+ P311+ P312-
U106- U198-
In 2011 there was an update to the general classification and naming
of Y-DNA haplogroups. This particularly affects the R haplogroup because
so many people of European and West Asian descent are in that haplogroup
and they order many more tests than other groups do, which creates new
data that has to be accommodated within the model.
It seems that the Zohrab subclade is now called R1b1a2a1a1.
It is recommended that people remember it by the last mutation, which
is P311 in my
case (if I understand it correctly). Then you will not be too confused
if and when R1b1a2a1a1 gets changed to something else.
As stated above, his results were:
L1- L11+ M18- M269+ M335- M73- P107-
P25+ P297+ P310+ P311+ L52+ P312- U106- U198-
It appears that you have to read this as a summary of a branching
tree, from left to right, as a sequence. Every time there is a "+"
sign, that signifies a mutation, and therefore a branching of the tree.
So you have to follow all the plus signs until you get to the last one.
New tests are offered from time to time by the Family Tree DNA company,
and at some stage (if not already available) there will probably be
a test which he (or some other Zohrab family member) could get done
which will relate to a branching of the tree below L52, apart from the
three which have already been tested for and provided a negative result
(P312, U106, and U198).
You can see the new version of the tree at:
